The Site
This is my collection of stuff that I have decided is interesting enough to put on the web. It will mostly be computer and technology related, so I don’t expect to appeal to a wide audience.
The Server
The site is run using the Wordpress Blog software as a content management system. I’m using a slightly modified default theme because I think it looks good and I’m not ambitious enough to come up with something on my own. Sorry for being unoriginal.
The hardware is a Pentium 233mmx, underclocked to 133mhz so that it doesn’t need a cpu fan. It runs OpenBSD, and serves double duty as my firewall/router. My upload is 640kb/s on my consumer DSL line.
Please don’t slashdot me, I don’t want my tiny server to catch fire.
The Name
Once upon a time I thought that disruptive might be a cool domain name to register, inspired by the term disruptive technology. It turns out that disruptive.everything is taken, but disruption.ca wasn’t. I figured disruption was nifty, memorable, and available, so I went with it.
Me
My name is Erik Johnson. I live in Edmonton, Canada. I work 9 – 5 as a web developer. Some day I might put my resume online.
